One of our service projects for 2013 was a Habitat for Humanity Tablerunner project. In this project, the table runners are made by guild members and donated to our local Habitat for Humanity. This is one of my favorite projects for the guild to participate in!
One of the guild charities this year was “My Sister’s House”, a women’s shelter here in Iredell County.
This is guild member Dolores Fobare presenting the quilts to Melissa Davis at My Sisters House:
A few pics from the quilt show that members have sent to me. I hope to add more as they are received.
First up, an arial view of the show from the balcony:
And a view of one of our service project tables. This one is from the Linus table:
One week after the quilt show, the guild celebrated the success of the show with an appreciation party for members during the guild meeting. This is the pic of the cake from that celebration!

On May 28th Patti and Cindy with Quilters Gallery, will do a lecture called “whole lotta quilts” and then on Saturday, June 1st they will do a workshop on “Embrace Your Curves” (see below) you can go to their website to learn more. This will be a fun and exciting workshop, so please sign up early. To register for this workshop email firstname.lastname@example.org
#1 – Embrace Your Curves
Skill level: Confident beginner or intermediate.
Everyone loves the look of curves in a quilt, but often it is a tech-nique that scares quilters. Workshop will cover Rainbow Curves, Wheel of Mystery and Winner’s Bouquet block. $6.00 kit w/ 3 blocks.
Patty Bethune is back by popular demand. This time she is going to do a workshop!!
Patty is the guru for the nine-patch. She will give us a lecture on “Unstructured Sewing” at our meeting on March 19th. PLEASE NOTE THIS NEW DATE FOR OUR REGULAR MEETING…the church needed our space so we had to change to March 19th.
On Saturday March 23rd Patty will do a workshop on the nine-patch. The class is limited to 20 people, so please register ASAP (please register to Marsha Brodsky at email@example.com). You can also sign up at our meeting in February. You may think you know all there is to know about the nine-patch…but, believe me, Patty knows many different techniques and short cuts on how to make the easiest nine-patch quilt ever. You won’t want to miss this.
Just a note to let you know our Programs page has been updated for our 2013 Program Schedule. Thanks to Marsha Brodsky who has organized our programs for the year.
